What's in your backpack?
The first step to zero wasting your life is to equip your backpack, purse or personal donkey with the right tools. Lets take a look at my backpack.
Water Bottle: this one is pretty self explanatory. I fill up my bottle before leaving the house. Its also great to have on hand when ordering a smoothie. Just ask them to fill up your water bottle so you don't get stuck with a plastic cub.
Coffee Mug: also quick obvious. I'm love a hot cup of coffee or tea. Cafe and such are pretty used to people to people having these on hand.
Collapsible tupperware: How many times has this saved me! The red tupperware holds a sandwich, a bowl of rice etc and folds down to about an inch. Use it to take food on the go for lunch or keep it around for that bagel sandwich. Follow this amazon link to see where I bought it. Honestly, it works fine but the 2 smaller ones it comes I've never put to use.
Ziplock tupperware: This is THE KEY to avoiding trash from take out food. Its big I know but worth carrying. I take this to the Chinese restaurant and give it to them when I order. "Just throw it all together in there." Or take it to the deli for your sandwich and side. Just be sure to give it to them at the register so they give it to the sandwich artists. I'll admit, this can be a bit clunky so maybe just keep one at home and the job.
Reusable bag: Sometime your backpack or purse just ins't enough. Heck, keep 3 if you'll need them.
Napkin: get that mayo off your cheek would ya. And wipe the sweat off your forehead while you're at it.
Silverware: Never again use a plastic set. These are so light and transportable there's really no excuse. I've been meaning to get a spork for a while now. (Birthday present...hint hint)
